FAGE in the US

FAGE began exporting Total yogurt to the US Market in 1998. In June 2000 the parent company, FAGE SA, established the subsidiary FAGE USA Corp. to import and promote FAGE Total further into the US Market. It's no secret - FAGE TOTAL Yogurt has been incredibly successful in the US thus leading FAGE to its decision to manufacture in the United States. In February 2005, FAGE USA Dairy Inc. was established in order to build a state-of-the-art production facility for FAGE Total in New York State.

The Plant is located in Johnstown Industrial Park, 200 miles north of New York City in an area of 22 acres and the building is 120,000 sq. ft. The Company has invested $100 million in order to manufacture FAGE Total in this highly automated, state-of-the-art plant. FAGE is also using technology to achieve the highest standards of hygienic and safety for the Total yogurt produced in the plant, where it is automated in all production, packaging and warehousing stages.

The yogurt market in the US is estimated by the company to be a little over $3 billion and the market share for FAGE Total around 2.4% of the total yogurt market. Currently, FAGE yogurt is distributed in many specialty and natural food stores, including supermarket chains across the country. The company believes wherever it is introduced, FAGE Total creates new interest and is getting into the hearts and stomachs of Americans.

FAGE USA Dairy currently has 100 full time employees and the plant is working on two production shifts, with milk receiving capacity of 65,000 tons/year which results in a production capacity of 15,000 tons of yogurt. Furthermore, the plant meets all OSHA requirements and it is IMS listed and licensed by NYSDAM.
